    Partner case study: Quality Water Service

    From distributor to part of the Waterlogic family

    Quality Water Service (QWS) began life in the garage of founder Richard Christiansen Snr. and his son, Richard Christiansen Jnr. in 2006 at their Puerto Rican home. Despite a small and humble start, the pair had big ambitions for the business and by 2010 had grown organically to approximately 300 POU dispensers (MIF). To help continue this growth, QWS brought a local Private Equity firm on board as an investor and partner and became a Waterlogic distributor.

    Not only did Waterlogic give them access to the most innovative, cutting-edge products, but equally as important, we provided hands-on support to help facilitate the growth of their business. The next three years saw the MIF base expand by 1,164%, with a total of 3,792 dispensers supplied by the end of 2013. In the same year Waterlogic supported QWS with its expansion into Chile, followed by Colombia in 2014.

    By the end of 2020, the QWS group had reached a staggering 22,666 MIF, revenue of approximately $11.3 million, and had created 177 full-time jobs in Puerto Rico, Chile and Colombia. QWS had become so prominent in the LATAM region, that in July 2021 Waterlogic acquired the company. Richard Christiansen Jnr, who continues to run the business in Puerto Rico, said of the acquisition:

    “Becoming part of Waterlogic is a natural progression, and this acquisition offers us the chance to provide even more customers with cutting-edge technology across an extensive range of products.”

    1. High performance filtration

    Best-in-class carbon filters remove sediment, chlorine and other contaminants, neutralising bad tastes and odours from the water whilst retaining naturally occurring and beneficial minerals.

    2. Patented Firewall purification

    Patented Firewall UVC technology purifies water all the way through to the nozzle preventing bacteria and viruses getting into the system and contaminating the drinking water.

    3. Antimicrobial technology

    BioCote®* built-in antimicrobial technology inhibits the growth of odour and stain causing microbes, such as bacteria and mould, that may be present on the dispenser surfaces.

    *BioCote® silver ion technology protects surfaces from odor- and stain-causing microbes. BioCote® does not protect users or others against bacteria, viruses, germs or other disease causing organisms. This technology is not a substitute for good cleaning practices.
